Orphan in The Holy Quran
Orphan in sherif Sunnah of the prophet

Orphan in The Holy Quran:

(They ask thee concerning orphans. Say: “The best thing to do is what is for their good; if ye mix their affairs with yours, they are your brethren, but Allah knows the man who means mischief from the man who means good”. )
AL-Baqara 220

(as also concerning the children who are weak and oppressed; that ye stand firm for justice to orphans, there is not a good deed which ye do; but Allah is well-acquainted therewith)
AL-Nissa 127

(it is not righteousness that ye turn your faces towards east or west; but it is righteousness to believe in Allah and Last Day, and the Angels, and the book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance; for the needy; for the wayfareró)
Al-Baqara 177

(they ask thee what they should spend (in charity) say: whatever ye spend that is good, is for parents, and kindred and orphans and those in want and for wayfarers. And whatever ye do that is good, Allah knoweth it well)
Al-Baqara 215

(serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him; and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need)
Al-Nissa 36

(Nay nay! But ye honour not the orphan!)
Al-Fajr 17

(Therefore treat not the orphan with harshness)
Al-Duha 9

(And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphans, and the captive * Saying “we feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks)
Al-Insan 8-9

Orphan in sherif Sunnah of the prophet:

Abu Huraira reported that Allah’s Messenger said ( one who looks after the orphan whether he is his relative or not, I and he would be together in paradise like this ) and Malik (explained it) with the gesture by drawing his index finger and middle finger together. Al Hafiz ibn Hijr said “this is an indication that the difference between the position of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the guardian of an orphan is as the difference between the middle and index fingers. Al Hafiz also said “Our Shaikh in the Explanation of Tirmedi said: There may be a reason for likening the position of the guardian of an orphan in Paradise to that of the Prophet (peace be upon him) as follows. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent to people who did not know much about the righteous religion so that he shall be their preacher, guider and guardian. Similarly, the orphan’s guardian supports, guides and guards a person, the orphan, who does not know much about his religion or for that matter his livelihood. The guardian shall guide, educate and raise the orphan in the same way as the Prophet shall guide and educate the nation of Islam, and hence the similarity.”

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “One who makes efforts (for earning to be spent) on a widow and a destitute is like a warrior fighting for the cause of Allah” and I think he also said: “He is like a person who fasts during the day and prays all the night”. Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: “One who looks after the orphan whether he is his relative or not, I and he would be together in Paradise like this”. Narrated by Muslim.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “One who provides for an orphan between Muslims from his food and drink until he is able to depend on himself (for his livelihood), Paradise shall be his reward”. Narrated by Abu Yola, Al Tabarani and Ahmed.

Abu Al Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) complaining that he was hardhearted. He asked him: Do you want your heart to be tender and attain your need? Show mercy to an orphan, run your hand over his head (as to comfort him) and feed him from your own food, (then) your heart will be tender and you will attain your need”. Narrated by Al Tabarani

The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: “One who puts his hand on the head of an orphan out of mercy, Allah will write for him a good deed for every hair that touched his hand”. Narrated by Imam Ahmed.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) complaining that he was hardhearted. He said to him: If you want your heart to be tender, feed the indigent and run your hand over the head of the orphan (as to comfort him)”. Narrated by Ahmed.

Malik bin Al Harith said that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: “One who provides for an orphan between Muslims from his food and drink until he is able to depend on himself (for his livelihood), Paradise shall assuredly be his reward. One who emancipates a Muslim slave shall be spared hell; every organ of his shall be spared hell for emancipating that organ of the slave”. Narrated by Ahmed.

Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said “One who runs his hand over the head of an orphan, Allah shall reward him with good deeds for every hair that his hand passed over. One who does good to an orphan girl or boy for whom he is a guardian, I and he would be together in Paradise like this,” showing his middle and index fingers and separating them.

Abu Said al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said “This wealth is a sweet vegetation, and it is a good companion for a Muslim who gives out of it to the orphan, the indigent and the wayfarer”. Narrated by Ahmed.

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “One who provides for an orphan between Muslims from his food and drink, Allah shall surely reward him with Paradise, unless he commits an unforgivable sin”. Narrated by Al Tirmedi.

Ali ibn abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said “Help the weak, the oppressed, the debtors, for the cause of Allah, the wayfarers, the beggars and the captives, and have mercy on widows and orphans”.
